About Bocas Paradise Hotel

Bocas del Toro and the Islands
The Bocas del Toro Islands is an archipelago located off the Caribbean coast of Panama, close to the border with Costa Rica. There are a total of 240 islands ranging from tiny mangrove islets up to Bastimentos Island which exceeds 100,000 acres in size. Isla Colon is the main island where the Town of Bocas del Toro is located. Bocas Town has an airport that receives flights from Panama City and San Jose, Costa Rica. Bocas is also where the mainland ferry and water taxis dock. The Islands are well-known for their pristine waters, secluded islands and abundant primary rainforest. Isla Colon is the only island with electricity, municipal water and phone service. None of the other islands have roads.
About the Owner of Bocas Paradise Hotel
Peter Winn was born and educated in England. He went to university on a sports scholarship and then spent a number of years traveling in Africa, India, and Asia. He moved to the U.S. in 1981 and built a successful real estate development company called Westminster Investments. Bocas Paradise Hotel and Popa Paradise Beach Resort are the realization of a long held desire to create an eco-friendly resort that would introduce guests to the spectacular beauty of the Bocas Islands.
